CHEMEX® | Karaffe 8 Tassen

The CHEMEX® was invented in 1941 by the chemist Dr. P. Schlumbohm. For the carafe, Schlumbohm was inspired by the Bauhaus school of design and non-porous laboratory glassware, which should not impart its own flavor. He designed the hourglass shape using these elements. The CHEMEX® can be found in museums all over the world and is part of the MOMA, NY collection.

Made from non-porous borosilicate glass, it absorbs neither odors nor chemical residues.

CHEMEX® 3 cup: approximately 470 ml
CHEMEX® 6 cup: approximately 900 ml
CHEMEX® 8cup: approximately 1200 ml

Scope of delivery: heat-resistant glass carafe, brown wooden cuff, leather cord
Material: Borosilicate glass, wood, leather
Cleaning: dishwasher safe, cuff and leather cord can be removed.
